Breaking news – Tuesday night a horrible event occurred in our beloved country. An earthquake caused major damage to four cities, namely Tixon, Bastan, Whiskan and Chorland. It began around 1 pm as a slight shaking of the ground that eventually led to a destructive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 which only occurs a few times a year. The Royal Meteorological Institute of Womanian did warn the local governments a few hours prior to the event allowing them to evacuate and secure properties.
In Womanian earthquakes are quite normal, you could even say ‘traditional’. Most times we are lucky in the sense that the magnitude of the earthquake is low and does not leave a path of ruin. Unfortunately, last night it didn’t go that smoothly. The epicenter of the earthquake was located just outside of Chorland at the eastside of the country. Thus, the most damage is done in Chorland and spread further to the nearby cities, Tixon, Bastan and the capital of Womanian, Whiskan.
According to the local governments most public and private properties are still standing and in a good condition. In contrast, the roads tell a different story. They are seriously broken or to put it bluntly, cracked in every way possible. Furthermore, a significant historical figure also didn’t survive the ravage. In Whiskan there’s a statue of the woman who discovered the land and founded our great country, her name is Elizabeth Geller. Lastly, the building that hosts the national symphony orchestra almost entirely collapsed as well.
This morning Blair Looper held a press conference where she stated that everything will be rebuild to its former glory. The most pressing need is the restoring of the roads. She said it will approximately take two weeks to make this happen. In every affected town there will be a specialized construction team that is responsible for the rebuilding of the damaged roads and buildings.
We will keep you updated on the construction progress.
